Oh man. I love National Adoption Awareness Month.
This year is jam-packed with awesome events that I wanted to share with you. Some are location specific, but some you can participate in no matter where you are.
All Month Long: Blogging Challenge Worldwide Interweb

All Month Long: Friends of Foster Care Service Project Anywhere and Everywhere
This has been an on-going service project, but one that will end at the end of the month. There is a chance to donate gift cards to teens in the Foster Care program so that they can have some of those classic teenager experiences of buying their own clothes, music, etc. This is a great program that is easy to participate in no matter where you are!
November 4-9: National Adoption Month Design Challenge Worldwide Interweb
This black and white logo was the winner chosen by my readers last November in my first ever National Adoption Month Design Challenge. We are going to have a new design challenge this year because it got so many people involved! Details on this year’s challenge will be posted tomorrow here at The R House. November 4: UVU Conference on Adoption Orem, Utah
This was an excellent conference last year! As I read about who will be presenting this year, I was interested in the classes on transracial adoption and classes taught by individuals who were adopted. I won’t be there but will someone take good notes for me?
November 4-5: Southwest Families Supporting Adoption Conference Tempe, AZ
Between the two of us, Mr. R and I will be presenting six times at this conference on avoiding adoption scams, adoption advocacy, gifts for birth families, adoption for men, The R House Adoption Consultants and finding. Can’t wait!
November 12: Adoption ‘Walk With Me’ 5K Salt Lake City, Utah
This is the 6th annual walk in Salt Lake City and I am thrilled to be sponsoring it this year! Most people walk the route with their kids in strollers, but if you are feeling ambitious, bring your running shoes! Great raffle, silly prizes for team wearing the most orange, connections, fun, breakfast food, booths, super kid-friendly. Invite anyone and everyone through the Facebook Event Page.
November 17: Open Adoption Bloggers Interview Project Worldwide Interweb
This cool interview project is brought to you by Production, Not Reproduction. 124 adoption bloggers are paired up to interview each other. I asked to be paired with a birth father …and his blog is incredible. As it turns out, he is the ONLY birth father participating in this project so I feel really lucky. Tune in on the 17th!
November 30: 3rd Annual National Adoption Month Finale Event Provo, Utah
This is my pièce de résistance. The R House presents its 3rd annual National Adoption Month Finale Event sponsored by Aveda Institute Provo.
We invite anyone touched by adoption especially adoptive moms, birth families, adoptees, foster moms and teens in the foster care program to join us for a luxe night of pampering and awesomeness.
