Are you a positive person?
Maybe it’s your goal to look for more positive things in your life in the New Year. Maybe you need to focus more on the positive than the negative. Maybe this is something you and your girlfriends or your family want to do together.
Hilary Weeks came up with an experiment and it turned into a movement: It’s called Billion Clicks.
I’ve written about Billion Clicks before and how counting my positive thoughts helped me rebound back into life after our failed and reversed adoptions in 2012. I believe in the power of thinking and I believe in the power of thinking happy thoughts–I don’t care how Pollyanna it sounds. I like rainbows, unicorns and Kool-aid.
Why am I like this? Well, I have tendency to spiral. While begrudgingly doing the dishes, I’ll start thinking of all the things I need to do, how I don’t have enough time, how overwhelmed I am, how many unfinished projects I have, how dirty my bathroom is, how I am failing at this and this and this. Just last month I had a moment like this and I bawled for several hours. This is no way to live!
With the help of my sweet husband, I found the good among all the unfinished projects and looming deadlines and was able to pull myself together.
Let’s do this together. Let’s count more of the positive things in our life and less of the negative.
