Let’s face it, 2012 was kind of rough on my waistline.
We started off the year grief eating. Then I added on another 9 pounds of said grief eating in August. (And enjoyed every last ounce of it, I might add.) Then we had a new baby and there was celebratory eating. AND THEN I spent an entire month at my parents’ home on holiday and eating every baked good my sisters-in-law and I could dream up. (And we can up with some real winners.)
Another fact I have come to terms with: I am lazy when it comes to dieting. I could write an entire book on this topic.
Along with everyone else in the blogosphere, one of my resolutions for 2013 is to take back my health.
I’ve been researching the best ways for my family and my personality to do this. Meal planning is essential so that I don’t get food ADD when I am starving at lunch time. I typically walk into the kitchen with healthy intentions searching for something to dine on and then …oh my …are those chips?
Diet-to-Go has some great ways to help with my healthy resolution and food ADD. They are a diet delivery service that brings the meals right to your door in portion sizes that won’t overwhelm you, but still fill you up. Each meal is labeled with what it is and when to eat it.
They do the meal planning for me. I like it!
And guess what? They are actually really good.
I sampled their low-carb menu (you can choose from traditional, vegetarian and low-carb) and totally enjoyed it.
Favorite lunch meal: Baked chicken with goat cheese, artichoke medley, cauliflower.
This was actually my favorite of all the meals. The goat cheese was such a nice surprise all tucked into the chicken and they didn’t skimp on it. I was impressed with the cauliflower as well. It was kind of sweet.
Favorite dinner meal: Pork chop pomodoro with asparagus and pepper, Italian green beans.
Very juicy pork and crisp veggies. Kind of had a kick to it.
*While I only sampled lunch and dinner, breakfasts are included in the meals.
I’ll be honest, 3 small children (one being an infant) and the arctic tundra temperatures that Utah is enjoying these days makes diet delivery very attractive. I am loving that Diet-to-Go’s menu can help me reach my health resolution for 2013 (delivering it to my doorstep) and that it won’t break the bank. (Budgeting is an additional resolution. Darnit.)
