My How Adoption has Blessed Your Life series shares good news happening in the adoption world from all sides of the adoption triad …or just offers a paragraph or two on how the love of adoption is blessing individuals and families. If you’d like to participate, just send me an email. Enjoy!
Today’s Adoption Good News comes from Tamra–a good, good friend and a birth mother. She placed 16 years ago in a closed adoption.
Yesterday she and I spoke together at Families Supporting Adoption’s Utah Regional Conference about how to be an adoption advocate. I love Tam. I love hanging out with her. She is one of my style idols. I love her heart. I love her Tennessee accent and I love her passion for adoption.
I’m still on an adoption high from the 2 day Families Supporting Adoption conference.
Adoption is MY favorite thing to talk about (you may have noticed), and adoption people are my favorite kind of people to be with! I’m reminded of how blessed I am and have been these 16 years.
Who would have thought that the decision which I expected to break me would bring exponential growth and healing, expand my family, make me a part of such a powerful community, introduce me to such sweet associations, bring me opportunity to have a passion and a mission and a work and a purpose, and perpetually bless me!
It never stops being awesome! I knew Justin would be lucky; I knew his family would be lucky, but how did I get SO lucky!?
God is good folks! He loves his kids! He knew exactly what I would need even though it hurt and ached like nothin’ else i’ve known.
However much I’ve stretched for grief, that is how much I’ve stretched for joy!
Did you miss last week’s Good News? It’s a shout of joy for a couple who finally finished their adoption paperwork.
