My How Adoption has Blessed Your Life series shares good news happening in the adoption world from all sides of the adoption triad …or just offers a paragraph or two on how the love of adoption is blessing individuals and families. If you’d like to participate, just send me an email. Enjoy!
Today’s Adoption Good News comes from Heather. Heather is a hopeful adoptive mother and adoptive mother. Today she shares how adoption continues to bless her life.
Working on the paperwork and creating an online presence while hoping to adopt is a little overwhelming, since marketing and graphic design are not my strongest assets (I am an erstwhile economist/financial planner). How do I convey my husband’s work ethic and easy-going-ness? How do I translate older daughter’s spunk and smarts in an accessible way? How do I accurately render younger daughter’s infectious laugh and sparkling personality?
The good news for our family is that we were just approved for adoption #3!
As we started our adoption journey over a decade ago, most adoptions were still closed, and I am very grateful that we have open adoptions with our daughters’ birth parents. It is a miracle to be chosen by a birth mom, to have that kind of trust placed in us. It is even more of a miracle to have it happen again. Our first birth mom, T, found us through a series of miracles. Our second birth mom, M, has a close relationship with T and picked us after watching our family for a year.
Adoption has truly blessed every aspect of our lives.
Did you miss last week’s Good News? It’s the story of an adoptive mother who worked to open the closed adoption of her daughter and succeeded!
